LET’S KNOW WHAT’S NEW IN MAGENTO 2.4.7

  • The ne­west version of Adobe Comme­rce, 2.4.7, has brought PHP 8.3 support and numerous other improve­ments. Let’s explore­ what extra goodies Adobe Comme­rce 2.4.7 packs in its latest update.
  • The fre­sh Adobe Commerce e­dition is out, courtesy of Adobe themse­lves! Over 140 updates await you, de­aling with security, compliance, performance­, and top-notch quality repairs.

SECURITY ENHANCEMENT CHANGES

  • Magento (Adobe Commerce) has reached a new level of security with its latest version, 2.4.7. This update brings 13 important security improvements and enhancements, making the platform more robust and resilient against potential threats.
  • The latest release of Magento version 2.4.7, addresses the security vulnerabilities outlined in APSB 23-35 security bulletin. 
  • These improvements target critical vulnerabilities such as cross-site scripting and XML injection, significantly enhancing the platform’s security measures. 
  • The default functionality of the current REST endpoint has been altered. 
  • Merchants now can restrict the rate at which payment information is transmitted via REST or GraphQL APIs.
  • The risk linked to the {BASE-URL}/page_cache/block/esi HTTP endpoint has been resolved.

 PLATFORM ENHANCEMENT

  • For support in Magento 2.4.7, PHP 8.3 has been added. Also, it supports PHP 8.2. 
  • PHP 8.1 support has been removed in the new version. You can’t use it.
  • In this version 2.4.7 composer 2.5.x. Supported that and Composer 2.2. x support remains. 
  • Varnish cache version 7.3 is now supported, while compatibility with versions 6.0.x and 7.2.x is maintained.
  • RabbitMQ version 3.11 is now supported, while compatibility with RabbitMQ 3.9 is retained.
  • This version 2.4.7 supports ElasticSearch 8.11
  • The JavaScript libraries have been updated: moment.js to version 2.29.4, jQuery UI to version 1.13.2, and the jQuery validation plugin to version 1.19.5.

IMPROVEMENTS IN PERFORMANCE & SCALABILITY

  • Enterprise merchants in Adobe Commerce can now configure up to one million active cart price rules based on coupons without experiencing significant performance degradation in cart and checkout operations.
  • Admin users now can utilize this command to modify the indexer status to suspended, invalid, or valid.
  • This functionality is especially beneficial for overseeing system performance during large-scale bulk operations like product imports or updates. It grants control over when indexers are automatically activated by the system’s cron jobs.
  • The loading time for product listing pages containing complex products with more than 100 options has been enhanced. Additionally, the performance of GraphQL requests to list products by category has seen improvement.
  • Merchants now can import up to 100,000 records per minute into Adobe Commerce in JSON format.
  • Enterprise deployments with around 100,000 active sales rules experience enhanced performance in Adobe Commerce 2.4.7, particularly in checkout operations. Even heavily promoted enterprise deployments won’t suffer performance degradation due to configured cart price rules.
  • In deployments with over 500 stores, saving configuration settings can be slow. The new Async Config module, disabled by default, facilitates asynchronous configuration saving through a cron job and message queue consumer.
  • The bin/magento cache: clean config command now pre-warms the config cache when enabled, minimizing downtime for large configurations. Configuration saves operations no longer clear the config_scopes cache before writing data, reducing lockout time for other requests during config data writing. 

GraphQL 

  • In Magento Open Source 2.4.7-beta1 and Adobe Commerce 2.4.7-beta1 releases, the GraphQL caching capabilities have been improved, leading to enhanced page load speeds.
  • Support for custom attributes has been improved.
  • The parse method is now invoked only once, resulting in improved performance of the GraphQL parser.

B2B

  • B2B Sales Representatives can now generate quotes directly from the Quote and Customer grids in the Admin interface.
  • Discounts can now be applied in percentage off, fixed value, or as extended pricing for specific line items within a quote.
  • Both B2B buyers and sellers can now directly add notes to a quote.
  • The Quote Detail view has progressed, imparting the ability to feature gadgets with the aid of SKU or from the product catalog, add or edit notes, practice line item reductions, and get entry to product configuration immediately from the quote element page for customers and sellers.

PWA STUDIO

  • PWA Studio version 14.0 is now compatible with 2.4.7, featuring numerous enhancements to enhance accessibility. For details on bug fixes, refer to the PWA Studio releases. PAGE BUILDER

  • Issues related to Google reCAPTCHA in the checkout workflow have been fixed.
  • Catalog rules now function correctly in a multi-website environment.
  • Price-drop notifications now function as intended.
  • The problems with guest API requests for shipping information have been resolved.
  • The issue of duplicate SKUs during bundle product import has been resolved.
  • The MySQL memory limit-reached error during the Magento upgrade command has been resolved.
  • The problems encountered during the Magento database backup have been addressed and fixed.
  • The page caching issues for parent products have been resolved.
  • The issues with product thumbnail images in the product stock alert emails have been resolved.
  • The product image gallery now functions as expected with GIF images.
  • Translation support has been added for the stock and price alert emails.
